Video sharing from the second screen?

Hello everybody,

first of all a short description of my used hardware:

Apple MacMini M1 (macOS Monterey 12.0.1), Samsung 4K monitor via HDMI (main monitor), ASUS mobile monitor via USB (DisplayLink).

When I want to share a video including sound in Zoom from a window that is on the second monitor, the picture freezes and the sound is transferred. On the main screen everything works fine. I think this is a problem with the DisplayLink driver.

If I now run the video fullscreen on the second monitor and split the complete desktop, it works. However, all events (e.g. who just came into the Zoom waiting room, etc.) are now also displayed on the second screen and transmitted to all participants. At the same time, all Zoom windows are running on the main screen.

Is there any way to set this up so that such messages are only displayed on the main screen, and not on the monitor that is currently being shared?

Many thanks in advance!

Many greetings

Michael

Yes, there is a way to display the zoom notifications only on the main screen and not on the monitor that is shared. Here are the steps:

  1. click the Zoom icon on the menu bar and select "Settings".
  2. go to the "Sharing" tab.
Check the "Share screen only" option and select the main screen from the drop-down list. 4.
Check the option "Hide warning messages when sharing".
  3. click "Save".

By enabling these options, the zoom notifications should only be displayed on the main screen and not on the monitor that is being shared.
