Why is participant switched to desktop when host screenshares?

As host, when I start screen sharing, one of my meeting participants is immediately switched to displaying his desktop screen. The Zoom meeting is still running on his laptop and can be redisplayed using the Alt-Tab keys.

He's running on Windows 10 and I'm not even sure that Zoom itself is the problem. Any ideas?

It could be that the attendee's settings are configured to automatically switch between multiple monitors. This could cause the Zoom meeting to be displayed on another monitor while the screen share is displayed on another monitor.
Here are some steps that the participant can try:

  1. right-click on the desktop and select Display Settings. Make sure the display options are configured correctly.
  2. The participant can try dragging the zoom window to the correct monitor and restarting the screen sharing.
  3. make sure that the participant's display options are set so that all monitors are in expanded mode and not in mirror mode.
  4. The participant can check the zoom settings to make sure they are configured correctly. Under Settings, he can ensure that Zoom is running on the primary monitor.
