Why is Zoom slowing down my PC?

Hey everyone,

I've noticed that whenever I run Zoom, my PC becomes significantly slower. Programs take longer to respond, and sometimes even my internet connection seems to lag. I’ve checked my CPU and RAM usage, and Zoom appears to be consuming a lot of resources.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any settings I can tweak to improve performance? Or could it be an issue with my system itself?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Zoom can slow down your PC if it uses too much of your hardware resources, such as your CPU or GPU. One way to improve performance is to adjust the video settings in Zoom.

To do this, go to "Settings" in Zoom, then click "Video" and "Advanced". Here you can try disabling Direct3D9 and Direct Show to see if this improves performance.

You can also try enabling "Use hardware acceleration" for video processing, video sending, and video receiving, but only if your system has the necessary hardware resources. You can also try changing the Video Rendering Method and Video Capture Method options to see if it makes a difference.

Finally, you can try enabling "Optimize video quality with de-noise," which can help create a clearer video image that is sent to meeting participants.
