Changes to existing features

  • Desktop client dropdown menu consolidation - Windows, macOS, Linux
    The dropdown menu, located in the top-right corner of the desktop client, has been enhanced to consolidate the various options. Non-essential items are removed, some options accessed through sub-menus, and the order of menu items was adjusted. Lastly, the option to switch between portrait and landscape views will be removed, although still accessible through keyboard shortcuts.
  • Show meeting controls setting - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The Always show meeting control setting will be permanently available in the client, regardless of whether it is enabled or disabled in the web portal. The web setting will no longer be used to control the availability of this feature in the client, and users will not be able to toggle it on or off through the web portal. Previously, the state of the web setting directly controlled the visibility of the corresponding client setting.

General features

  • Support for name pronunciation in Profile card - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Users that have added a description of how to pronounce their name in their Profile page in the Zoom web portal, will have an additional tooltip next to their name in their Profile card, indicating how their name is properly pronounced. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for June 5, 2023.
  • Additional MSI/PLIST/GPO/MDM options
  1. Remove Sign up option - DisableUserSignUp - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Disabled by default, this policy allows admins to disable the Sign Up option on the Zoom app, which would otherwise be displayed with Join a Meeting and Sign In options upon opening the Zoom app.
  2. Control ability to sync newly scheduled Zoom Meetings to local calendar - SyncMeetingToCalendar - Android, iOS
    Enabled by default, this allows admins to prevent users from syncing a newly scheduled meeting to their local calendars on their mobile device.

Meeting/webinar features

  • Enhanced captioning control for hosts/co-host - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Hosts can have greater control of captioning use and the speaking language for the meeting. If enabled in web settings, captions can only be enabled by the host. Participants in the meeting can request captioning be enabled, which prompts the host (and co-hosts) to enable captioning and choose a speaking language. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for June 4, 2023.
  • Zoom IQ Meeting Summary - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Hosts can initiate an AI generated summarization of the current meeting. This summary is emailed, as well as posted to Team Chat. The ability to receive the meeting summary can be restricted to the host alone, the host along with users on their same account, or extended to all attendees of the meeting, including invitees outside of their organization. All meeting participants will be notified that the summary is being generated, and the meeting host can stop the summary at any time, if necessary. This feature is available as a free trial for Zoom One Enterprise Plus, Zoom One Enterprise, Enterprise Bundle, and Zoom One Business Plus customers. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for May 31, 2023.
  • Persistent audio channel selection - Windows, macOS
    When utilizing multiple audio channel inputs, those selections will be persistent between meetings, removing the need to set these audio preferences each meeting.
  • Mobile support for auto-start captions - Android, iOS
  • Mobile support for temporarily disable automated captions - Android, iOS

Meeting features

  • Raise hand enhancements - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The visibility of participants that have raised their hand is enhanced to make it easier for hosts to be aware of raised hands and take action to address that participant. A new notification will appear for those who raised their hand, with the option to immediately open the Participants panel and take action, such as requesting their unmute to ask their question. Users can enable an audio chime through client settings for when someone raises their hand. Lastly, after speaking with your hand raised, Zoom will start a countdown to lower your hand, unless manually canceled by the user. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Continuous Meeting Chat file and images synchronization - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Files and images shared during the meeting synchronize with the dedicated group chat created for the meeting, allowing participants to access them after the meeting. In the same fashion, files and images shared in the dedicated meeting group chat will synchronize with in-meeting chat.

Team Chat features

  • Chat Compose with Zoom IQ - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Compose with Zoom IQ in Team Chat writes your messages for you by leveraging context from your conversation. You’ll maintain the ability to change messages by adding tone, inputting prompts, or changing the length of the message to give you confidence in what you’re communicating. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for May 31, 2023.

Mail and Calendar features

  • Delegate access for Zoom Mail Service - Windows, macOS
    Zoom Mail Service users can assign delegate mail access for other Zoom Mail Service users on their account, allowing them to view, reply, and compose emails on behalf of the user. Delegating users can also enable settings to include the delegate's email on outgoing email (Sent by…) and keep emails marked as unread, even if the delegate has opened it. Additionally, users assigning delegated access will automatically have the encryption key change notification enabled for each delegated user.
  • Mobile email notification support - Android, iOS
    Mobile users can receive notifications when receiving an email through the Zoom Mail Client, providing the sender, subject, and a preview of the body at a glance. Notifications for encrypted emails while the app is not active will not display this information, and instead be a generic new email message. Email notifications can be enabled/disabled through the mail settings in the Zoom app.
  • Email templates - Windows, macOS
    Users can create email templates to facilitate sending repeated emails with prepared content. Templates can include images and rich-text formatting, as well as be shared with others in your account.
  • Option to hide booking schedules - Windows, macOS
    Calendar users also utilizing Zoom Scheduler can choose the visibility of their booking schedules when viewing their calendar. These are outlined on the left side of each calendar day, indicating when a booking schedule is active and meetings may potentially be scheduled.
  • Support for scheduling Zoom Room as location - Windows, macOS
    Calendar users with Zoom Rooms on their account can easily search for and select Zoom Rooms as the location for the meeting, reserving the specified Zoom Room for that date and time and adding the calendar event to the Zoom Room’s upcoming meetings for that date.
  • Show invitee’s calendar when scheduling - Windows, macOS
    When creating a calendar event, each additional invitee’s calendar events will be shown next to your own, aiding in finding a date and time that suits all invitees.
  • Mobile mail support for Japanese, Spanish, French, and German - Android, iOS
    Zoom Mail UI and settings have been localized into Japanese, Spanish, French, and German languages. Previously, only English was supported.

Phone features

  • Share missed call details - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users who have been assigned a Power Pack license can now take notes during or after a call and easily share the details with anyone using Zoom Team's chat messaging feature. As a Power Pack user, you also have the option to create multiple call drafts and save them for later, in case you need more time to review and finalize your notes before sending them. The notes can include important details like the caller's name, phone number, date and time of the call, and entry point of the call. This feature requires version 5.14.10 or higher.
  • IP address access restriction for SMS attachments - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users will be unable to access their SMS attachments if they are not accessing them from the specific IP addresses permitted by the admins.

Changes to existing features

  • Reorganization of settings related to mail, calendar, profile and contacts, and others
    Settings related to mail and calendar, Zoom Scheduler, and calendar and contact integrations are being moved to their own Mail & Calendar tab on the Account, Group, and User Settings pages. Additionally, settings related to client updates, profile and contacts, data storage, and feedback are also moved to their own General tab on the Account, Group, and User Settings pages.
  • Option to disable Yahoo and Outlook calendar
    In addition to Google calendar, account owners and admins can disable newly scheduled meeting invites from integrating with Yahoo and Outlook calendars.
  • Adding participant user ID in archiving JSON file
    Users who have in-meeting chat archiving enabled and have opted-in to get the chat file in a JSON format can see the sender and receiver’s user ID as part of the response. Messages sent to everyone will only have the sender's user ID.

  • Enhanced control of language interpretation for cloud recordings
    Admins have greater control over which language interpretation is captured by cloud recordings. The Record the Interpretation option has two sub-settings, allowing for sign-language and/or spoken-language interpretation to be captured or not.
  • Zoom IQ Meeting Summary controls
    Account owners and admins can allow the host to initiate an ai generated summarization and next steps from a meeting that gets posted to team chat, web portal, and meeting client post meeting. The ability to receive the meeting summary can be restricted to the host alone, the host along with the company’s employees, or extended to all attendees of the meeting including invitees outside of their organization. This feature is available as a free trial for Zoom One Enterprise Plus, Zoom One Enterprise, Enterprise Bundle, and Zoom One Business Plus customers. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for May 31, 2023.
  • Enhanced captioning control
    Hosts can have greater control over captioning use and the speaking language chosen for the meeting. A sub-setting under the Automated captions setting is added, restricting caption enablement to just the host or just the host and any co-hosts. This results in meeting and webinar participants having to request captioning be enabled, which prompts the host (and co-hosts) to enable captioning and choose a speaking language. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for June 4, 2023.
  • Enhancement to retention period for users
    Account owners and admins can set a custom archiving retention period for users to 45 and 60 days. Previously, the archiving retention period ranged from 1 to 30 days only.
  • Enhancement to participant list during meeting archiving
    Account owners and admins can choose whether the archiving icon will also show up for internal regulated users. By default, the archiving icon is applicable only to guest users. This setting is specific to meetings hosted by the account holder. This feature can only be modified at the account level.
  • Enhancement to admin audit logs
    Account owners and admins can view operation logs for changes made to audio conferencing plans, specifically countries and regions, as well as view the list of users that were deleted through batch user deletion.
  • Prevent deletion of user groups when using Information Barriers
    Account owners and admins can enable or disable the web setting Do not allow user groups to be deleted if they are part of an Information Barrier Policy that prevents the deletion of groups that have an info-barrier policy applied to them. This setting is disabled by default.
  • Enterprise feature release controls
    Admins on Enterprise accounts will be able to manage the release of new certain new features or products into their environment. Account admins can select a timeline they are comfortable with for evaluating newly released features based on their needs for testing functionality, security, and compliance that are required by their organizational policy. Releases can be done manually or set to automatic release on a specific date. Admins can also track and review the timing of these changes through the Operation Logs report.
  • Control Team Chat screen capture at Group level
    Account owners and admins can configure screen capture within Team Chat at the Group-level settings. Previously, this was only available at the Account level.
  • Zoom Rooms and Workspace location management
    Account owners and admins can set up centralized location management, which provides a comprehensive view of all Zoom Rooms and Workspaces across their organization, making it easier to keep track of everything in one place. Additionally, the account owner or admin can control other users’ roles in Location Management through role management.
  • Zoom Mail Service domain configuration
    Accounts managing one or more associated domains can use those domains to create corresponding email domains for use with the Zoom Mail Service. Admins can control mailing group creation, mailbox size quotas, calendar access control, and mail auto-deletion and retention.
  • Zoom Mail Service mailbox management
    For each email domain on their account, admins can manage individual mailboxes, and create shared mailboxes for users on their account. Mailboxes can be rate-limited, indexed, deactivated, deleted, recovered, and purged entirely.
  • CMK adds support for Azure Key Vault
    In addition to Amazon AWS and OCI Vault as supported Key Management Service (KMS) providers, Zoom has added support for Azure Key Vault.
  • CMK adds support for AWS External Key Store
    For customers who need more control, AWS KMS also offers a dedicated CloudHSM or the capability to associate with an external KMS.
  • Chat Compose with Zoom IQ
    Admins can allow their users to utilize Smart Compose in Team Chat to write their messages by leveraging context from your conversation. You’ll maintain the ability to change messages by adding tone, inputting prompts, or changing the length of the message to give you confidence in what you’re communicating. This setting is available at the Account level. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend server update currently scheduled for May 31, 2023.
  • Display video codec in Zoom Dashboard
    In the Zoom Dashboard, account owners and admins can view the video codec type for each meeting participant in addition to bitrate, latency, and jitter. This feature allows for tracking video codec usage, which can be helpful for troubleshooting purposes.

User features

  • Enhancement to Simulive recording list
    If the host account is eligible and enabled for video upload, users can use their uploaded recordings for their simulive session. Previously only meeting and webinar recordings were available to upload. The video upload feature must be enabled by Zoom to use uploaded recordings for simulive sessions.
  • Zoom IQ Meeting Summary
    If the meeting host enables the Zoom IQ Meeting Summary, participants of the meeting will receive an automatically generated summary of the meeting including next steps after the meeting has ended. The meeting summary gets posted to team chat, web portal, and meeting client post meeting. This feature is available as a free trial for Zoom One Enterprise Plus, Zoom One Enterprise, Enterprise Bundle, and Zoom One Business Plus customers.   • Cloud recording enhancements
    Various enhancements have been made to cloud recordings to make it easier to access cloud recordings and their content:
  1. Cloud recordings are separated by your cloud recordings and recordings shared with you.
  2. Recordings can be viewed in a thumbnail or list views, with the list view providing a preview of the meeting summary (if available).
  3. When viewing a recording, all associated assets are also available on the same page, such as smart recording chapters, audio and chat transcripts, meeting summary, and share settings.
  4. When a recording is shared, the email includes a thumbnail to make it easier for users to find what they are looking for, as well as the Meeting Summary (if available).

    CAPTCHA security checks will be added to the join flow to suppress bots from joining meetings through the web client. The CAPTCHA security checks will only be displayed to users who join and are not signed-in. Users who are signed-in will not see the CAPTCHA screen during the join process.

Release notes for Zoom Scheduler

Changes to existing features

  • Removed custom availability
    Creating custom booking schedules has been removed while we reevaluate the booking schedule creation process. We hope to return this ability, or something similar as a replacement, in an upcoming release.

User features

  • Enhanced booking URLs
    Zoom Scheduler users can create custom URLs for accessing their personal page. For example, a user could add their name to the end of scheduler.zoom.us/, resulting in scheduler.zoom.us/John.Smith. Additionally, the full URLs generated for specific booking schedules are shortened.

    Users are able to schedule meetings with interpreters directly through their Outlook calendar. Previously, users could only enable language interpretation through the Zoom web portal when scheduling a meeting.

    When updating meeting details, either through the automatic webhook or manual sync, meeting topic, start date/time, and end date/time are also synced.

  • Enhancement to Unlinked Zoom Call Logs
    The Unlinked Zoom Call Logs feature is now enabled by default to match a contact/lead. Previously the feature was disabled by default.
    ###Contact Center features
  • Auto-close engagements
    If the auto-close engagement setting is enabled in the Zoom web portal, a task and session history record will be created in Salesforce. If configured, the default disposition code will also be auto populated.
  • Enhancement to Auto-close engagements at the end of wrap-up duration
    When enabled, task and session history records are generated for inbound and outbound voice/video interactions in Salesforce CRM and Zoom web portal.
