Changes to existing features

  • Back, Forward and History button to support navigation to additional product area tabs - Windows, macOS, Linux
    The Zoom Workplace app’s Back, Forward, and History buttons that initially supported Team Chat are expanded to support navigation to additional product area tabs such as Calendar, Contacts, Clips, Whiteboards, and other products available from the More menu.

New and enhanced features

General features

  • Synchronized presence from Zoom to Microsoft - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    When configured and enabled by their account owner or admins, users can seamlessly synchronize their presence from Zoom to Microsoft, maintaining a consistent representation across both platforms. Users can trigger manual presence changes through their Zoom app. Actions such as making a call or joining a Zoom Meeting will also change a user's presence which will then be pushed and reflected in Microsoft 365 with this capability enabled. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the External Presence Service, currently scheduled for June 28, 2024.
  • Enhanced ability to report application problems within the Zoom Workplace app - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    When a user clicks on Report problem, they can easily select the type of problem they would like to report and now have an option to include an attachment and capture a screenshot. Log files are now included with submissions by default (but can be excluded by a user). Diagnostic memory logs are now saved in encrypted form in both local storage and memory and are limited to 3 files that are 20 MB maximum in size each.
  • AI video features on NPU - Windows
    The Zoom Workplace app for Windows is transitioning AI-related video features to run on the Neural Processing Unit (NPU), specifically for virtual background and portrait lighting. This aims to provide users with extended battery life and reduced CPU load. This is applicable to Windows machines with Intel Meteor Lake and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite & Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processors.
  • Zoom app ability to update while application is not running - Windows
    To provide a more seamless meeting experience, reducing disruptions and missed call minutes caused by forced updates before joining a meeting, the Zoom desktop app for Windows (.exe package) can push version upgrades while the app is not running for users with auto updates enabled.

Meeting/webinar features

  • Support keyboard shortcuts for in-meeting reactions - Windows, macOS
    Users that rely on accessibility features currently face challenges accessing in-meeting reactions due to the extensive tabbing required. To address this, new keyboard shortcuts will be introduced to enable quicker and more efficient submission of reactions, facilitating timely and appropriate participation in call-and-response or voting activities. This improvement aims to provide a seamless experience for accessibility users, allowing them to give instant feedback without delays.New keyboard shortcut scope for this release are as follows:

    Automatically starting captions when meetings begin consistently activates captions without manual intervention. This feature activates captions for both webinars and meetings on mobile devices based on a participant's accessibility settings, simplifying the process and reducing the need for assistance from other admins or licensed users. In webinars, panelists set a speaking language upon joining, and in meetings, the speaking language follows the host, with prompts to confirm any changes made by late joiners.
  • Change local recordings label to computer recordings for clarity - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Zoom is updating the labeling of recording options, from Local Recordings to Computer Recordings, to clearly differentiate between recordings stored on a user's computer and those stored in Zoom cloud. This change aims to improve clarity and simplify the selection of recording options across Zoom's app and web settings, enhancing the overall user experience with Zoom's recording features.

Meeting features

  • Multi-share - View newest share tab - Windows, macOS, Linux
    The Multi-Share feature allows participants to share multiple content items and types simultaneously in a meeting. This capability benefits users by organizing each shared item into tabs, making it easier to follow along with the meeting activities. With the latest enhancement to this feature, participants can be directed to the newest share tab so they stay up-to-date with the meeting's flow.
  • Enhancements to in-meeting multi-share - Windows, macOS, Linux
    When using Multi-Share during meetings, users will be able to see all of the shares including shares from iPad/iPhone, second camera, and shared video files in the tabbed meeting experience. Additionally, new modals will inform users about Multi-Share when sharing restrictions occur, prompting them to enable the feature or request its enablement from the host so hosts and participants are aware of Multi-Share's availability, allowing for enhanced sharing and collaboration during meetings.
  • Auto-connect to audio using wifi by default for new app installations - Android, iOS
    Zoom is enhancing the mobile meeting join experience by automatically connecting to audio using wifi by default for new app installs on both Android and iOS devices. This change aims to streamline the process for new users for a smoother meeting start experience. Existing users who update the app will retain their current audio join settings.
  • Enhanced mobile in-meeting audio indicators - Android, iOS
    To improve microphone status awareness during meetings, Zoom is enhancing the mobile experience with new audio indicator UX improvements. A new mute indicator in the mobile experience makes it easier to know the current microphone state, even when the toolbar is hidden. Additionally, a muted icon will be displayed on the active speaker screen and gallery view, remaining visible even without the toolbar.
  • Don't Show This Again option for meeting disclaimer prompts - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Zoom introduces a Don't show this again option for common in-meeting disclaimer prompts: Meeting recording (including Meeting recording shared with Zoom Revenue Accelerator), AI Companion, Livestreaming, and durable captions. This feature only affects internal meetings. This feature will not appear for disclaimers that have been set up with a custom disclaimer. Controllable by admins at the Account and Group levels, this feature allows users to avoid repeated prompts in future internal meetings after acknowledging them once. Admins can disable this feature if they prefer users to acknowledge each prompt, and users can reset their preferences from the Web portal settings.
  • Enhanced visual effects and background controls - Windows, macOS
    Zoom is enhancing the Meetings experience by consolidating visual effect settings, making it easier for users to adjust their video appearance and backgrounds. Now, users can adjust lighting, add background blurs, virtual backgrounds, and more from one place.

Webinar features

  • View main stage in Backstage before webinar starts for attendees - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Hosts and panelists can view the main stage in Zoom Webinar Backstage even when the webinar is not yet open for attendees. The Live Feed preview will display what's happening on the main stage instead of showing an Off Air message. This enhancement allows hosts and panelists to practice and familiarize themselves with the Backstage experience before attendees join.
  • Enhanced control: Adjusting webinar resources directly during scheduling - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Zoom now enables webinar hosts to manage and adjust the status of webinar resources directly during the scheduling process. This feature allows hosts to enable or disable specific items as needed before the webinar begins.
  • Enhancing webinar security: Introducing reporting feature for hosts and panelists - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Zoom is introducing a reporting feature in webinars, allowing hosts and panelists to report instances of abuse directly from the webinar interface. This feature aims to replicate the reporting functionality currently available in meetings, providing permissions for hosts and panelists to report participants and for hosts to remove them from the webinar.

Team Chat features

  • Support 250,000 members in Announcement channels - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Announcement channels in Team Chat now support up to 250,000 members, enhancing scalability for larger communities. Users can actively participate in these channels by using features like reactions, responses, and tagging, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Enhancements to draft limit in Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
    The draft limit in Team Chat has been increased from 100 to 300. To accommodate this change, the Drafts tab has been renamed to Drafts and Sent for all users. As users approach the new 300 draft limit, a warning message will appear, encouraging them to clear up storage in the Drafts and Sent section to continue saving new drafts. This enhancement offers users greater flexibility in managing their draft messages and sent items within the integrated messaging platform.
  • Improved mobile QR code scanning experience - Android, iOS
    Users can now scan QR codes more conveniently on their mobile devices. The mobile client features an added QR code shortcut for quick access to scanning. Additionally, users can enable the flashlight to improve QR code scanning in dim lighting conditions. The Scan QR Code button is also repositioned for better accessibility on mobile screens. Users can even scan QR codes from images stored in their mobile gallery. These enhancements provide a seamless and efficient QR code scanning experience on mobile devices.
  • Enhancements to custom emojis - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Custom emoji sorting has been improved based on emojis added by the user and the most popular emojis. Additionally, hovering over a reaction or emoji will display its name and a larger view of the emoji, enhancing discoverability. Users can also copy and paste custom emojis within Team Chat, facilitating seamless communication.
  • Improved message editing capabilities for adding images, files, and text - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users can edit any message, including those containing only images or files, and add or modify the text content. They can also add images or files to messages that were initially sent without attachments. This feature allows users to enhance their communications by providing additional context or supplementary information after the initial message has been sent, streamlining the messaging experience.
  • Increase compose box size for iOS and Android devices - Android, iOS
    Users can expand the compose box on mobile devices by dragging it upwards, allowing for easier composition and viewing of longer messages. The expanded compose box remains fixed in the dragged position until minimized. When minimized, the text truncates with an ellipsis. The cursor position is maintained at the end of the text during expansion. This feature improves the user experience when composing messages on mobile devices.
  • Simplified one-to-one chat invitations with external users - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
    Users can initiate a 1:1 chat with an external user by entering their email address. The system will prompt the user that this is a contact request and will be sent as an email invitation as well as an in-client notification. Invitees can accept or decline the invitation from the client after signing in or signing up. If accepted, a 1:1 chat is created with the inviter's message populated. This provides a clear and safe way to invite and communicate with external users in a 1:1 chat. The invitation will expire after 30 days. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for June 20, 2024.
  • Expanded GIPHY search and display capabilities in Zoom Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users can now view up to 30 GIF search results from GIPHY within the Zoom Team Chat app. The search results load incrementally as the user types their query, providing a more dynamic and responsive experience.
  • Enhancements to forward message feature - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The message forwarding experience in Zoom Team Chat has been improved. Share message will be replaced with Forward message in multiple locations:
  • Within the More menu associated with the message bubble
  • In the title of the share/forward pop-up modal
  • On the call-to-action button within the modal
  • On the share/forward card displayed when the message is forwarded, along with its corresponding icon. Share message will be substituted with Forward/Forwarded message in these instances.
  • Additionally, to ensure consistency across mobile and desktop versions, two buttons, Share separately and Create group chat, will be included in the share modal on desktop. Previously, these buttons were only accessible on mobile devices. This modification is intended to harmonize the functionality between the desktop and mobile versions of the feature.

Clips features

  • Support for Zoom Clips - Linux, Android, iOS
    In addition to Windows and macOS, Zoom Clips will be available for Linux, Android, and iOS. Zoom Clips offers a convenient solution for capturing both personal video and screen activities, allowing users to effortlessly share their recordings with others. This feature is particularly valuable when demonstrating product features or showcasing various functionalities. Users can conveniently access their Clips through their client or web portal, and receive notifications about views, comments, and replies related to their Clips. The feature can be enabled or disabled at the account, group, or user level and is available for public beta during this release.

Phone features

  • Prevent iOS native call interruptions for Zoom Phone VoIP calls - iOS
    Account owners and admins can enable an option to always use CallKit for iOS devices when making Zoom Phone calls. When enabled, incoming native calls on the iOS device will not interrupt ongoing Zoom Phone VoIP calls. This improves the call experience for users by preventing disruptions during important calls. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Introducing voicemail transcription general availability - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The voicemail transcription feature is generally available for additional languages, including French (Canadian), Spanish, Portuguese, and German. The default setting is English.
  • Expanded language support for voicemail and videomail transcription - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users can select additional languages for voicemail and videomail transcription, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), French (France), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish (EU). Users can set their default transcription language for voicemail, videomail, and call recording transcriptions in the Zoom Workplace app. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Outbound SMS spam prevention - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    There are several enhancements to spam prevention rules for outbound SMS messages. When duplicated SMS messages are sent on the Zoom desktop or mobile app, users will receive a risk notice that they must acknowledge. Phone numbers reported for spam are classified into risk categories, and appropriate actions are taken, such as sending notifications, reducing SMS limits, or suspending SMS capability. This feature ensures compliance with messaging best practices.
  • Support for multiple languages for voice call summary - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users can select from a wider range of languages for the voice call summary feature, including Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. The feature also includes language identification, automatically detecting language transitions during calls to ensure accurate transcription. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Post-quantum end-to-end encryption support for Zoom Phone - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users can enable post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ-E2EE) for Zoom Phone calls. When enabled, users are notified that their call is "Post quantum end-to-end encrypted". As users update their Zoom desktop and mobile app to version 6.6.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted calls will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the call will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled. PQ E2EE in Zoom Phone is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. PQ E2EE offers the same security property as standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE), namely that the call is encrypted using cryptographic keys known only to the devices of the caller and receiver.

Contact Center features

  • Visibility into agent queue and engagement outcome - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Admins can access the assigned agent queue name and disposition for an engagement through new global variables. The global_system.Engagement.queue variable provides the queue name of the agent assigned to the engagement, which updates if the agent changes. The global_system.Engagement.disposition variable shows the disposition selected by the agent or system for the engagement. These read-only variables are accessible in flows, allowing admins to utilize this engagement data in widgets or scripts.

    There are several enhancements to spam prevention rules for outbound SMS messages. When duplicated SMS messages are sent on the Zoom desktop or mobile app, users will receive a risk notice that they must acknowledge. Phone numbers reported for spam are classified into risk categories, and appropriate actions are taken, such as sending notifications, reducing SMS limits, or suspending SMS capability. This feature ensures compliance with messaging best practices.
  • Support for multiple languages for voice call summary - Android, iOS
    Users can select from a wider range of languages for the voice call summary feature, including Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. The feature also includes language identification, automatically detecting language transitions during calls to ensure accurate transcription. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
  • Post-quantum end-to-end encryption support for Zoom Phone - Android, iOS
    Users can enable post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ-E2EE) for Zoom Phone calls. When enabled, users are notified that their call is "Post quantum end-to-end encrypted". As users update their Zoom desktop and mobile app to version 6.6.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted calls will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the call will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled. PQ E2EE in Zoom Phone is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. PQ E2EE offers the same security property as standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE), namely that the call is encrypted using cryptographic keys known only to the devices of the caller and receiver.

Changes to existing features

  • Remove the Event Detail Page tab from the event creation setup navigation menu
    Users can now customize the event landing page directly from the registration link under Links and Event Access. The left navigation for registration and lite events has been standardized, removing the need to navigate separately to the event detail page. Change history tracking has been updated to reflect this workflow enhancement. If the page builder is available, users will be redirected to it for a seamless editing experience. Otherwise, they can access the existing event detail page configuration with breadcrumbs for navigation. This change simplifies the process of customizing the event landing page, reducing the need for hosts to switch between multiple sections.
  • Changes to recurring sessions events ICS file
    For recurring session events following a recurring schedule, the ICS file will be simplified to improve compatibility with email providers. This will improve the rate of auto-added calendars for Google for recurring events. There is no change to the attendee experience, and the generated ICS file for recurring sessions events will have a single entry instead of multiple entries. This will only impact recurring sessions events that are on a recurring schedule. If the host customizes the schedule, this will not have an updated behavior.

  • Cloud recording settings for Zoom Events
    Account owners and admins can enable or disable cloud recording independently for each Zoom Events session type. These settings allow admins to enable recording for webinars without allowing recording for regular meetings. The separate settings can be configured at the account, group, and user levels. This provides more granular control over recording permissions. Previously, the recording setting applied to all session types together.
    Note: This feature will be rolling out to accounts over the next months and will be fully available to all users on July 15, 2024.

  • Join Zoom Sessions with meeting ID and passcode
    In the event creation setup, hosts can view and share the session ID and passcode, allowing registrants to enter the session on the Zoom client to join an event. Hosts can also enable the join ID option that allows registrants to enter the session ID and passcode on the Zoom client to join an event. Registrants will receive a join ID (shared session ID and unique passcode) in the ticket email and the event ticket. Additionally, every group join link has a shared session ID and a unique passcode. Registrants can enter the session ID and passcode on the Zoom desktop client to join their event.

Event setup features

  • Introducing Page Builder
    Hosts can create custom registration pages for Zoom Events that match their brand and meet the unique needs of their event using a new drag-and-drop page builder. The page builder allows customizing the layout and components on registration pages. Registration pages will automatically inherit event branding, styling, and native components. Each content component supports the drag-and-drop function, the Duplicate button, the Delete button, the Text Spacer component, and the Button Divider component.
  • Enhance email management by integrating speaker reminder email into email builder
    Hosts have more control over all event-related communication, including reminder emails. This helps ensure that the special role reminder email is visible within the Other Emails section of the email management system. Additionally, it transforms this email into a fully customizable template within the email builder, granting hosts the capability to adjust its content as per their requirements. Previously, hosts could not view, disable, or modify the special role reminder email sent to speakers.
  • Track email builder changes and email management in event change history
    The email builder and email management changes are included in the event change history. This expanded visibility allows admins to effectively monitor and audit modifications to email templates and settings.
  • Enhanced automated approval flow for registration forms
    Hosts can view, add, delete, and export the allow list for automated approval flow on registration forms. This provides more control and flexibility in managing the allow list.
  • Enhancements to recurring sessions scheduling
    Hosts can see updated event cadences when the original cadence has been modified. They also receive a warning message if editing all sessions will overwrite any previously added sessions. The event end date is automatically updated to the last session end date in the series.
  • Enhancement to event detail page for single session full events
    Hosts can move the rich text description field for single-session full events to the session section of the setup flow. Helper text is added to let customers know that the information will be used in the detail section of the lobby. This enhancement improves the event setup experience for single-session full events.
  • Set default event access permissions for registration and group join
    Hosts can set their default permission settings for event registration and group join separately. The registration authentication settings will match the event access and contain any allow lists. The join authentication settings will also match the event access and contain any allow lists. The default settings will be applied to newly created events within the hub. This allows hosts to customize the default event access settings to better suit their use case and prevent mistakes.
  • Customizable survey invitations for Zoom Events
    Event hosts can customize the survey invitation for attendees when adding external surveys to their Zoom Events. They can curate the headline, body copy, brand logo, and call-to-action buttons on the invitation. Additionally, event hosts can apply the same customizations to the Zoom survey invitation, maintaining a consistent style. This feature enables event hosts to tailor the survey experience to their branding and event theme.
  • Duplicate moderator roles when duplicating Zoom Events
    Event organizers can duplicate the moderator roles when duplicating an event. After duplication, the moderator roles are duplicated along with the event details. This allows for consistent moderation across duplicated events.

Host features

  • Enable single choice required registration question
    Hosts can create a multiple-choice registration question with only one answer option available. This single-choice question can be set as required, making it mandatory for attendees to select the provided option to successfully register for the event. Additionally, hosts can include instructions or terms that attendees must acknowledge by selecting the sole option. This feature provides hosts with greater control over the registration process and ensures attendees review and accept any necessary information or agreements.
  • Customize collectable attendee information
    Hosts can opt out of collecting registrants' last names and customize the terminology for the first name field. When the last name is not collectible, the platform will auto-fill a placeholder value, which the host can customize. Instead of first and last names, hosts can require attendees to enter an alternative identifier, such as a username or handle, during registration. Attendees will be identified by this alternative identifier in the participant list and event reports.

Hub features

  • VOD and simulive upload controls
    Account owners and admins can separately enable or disable VOD and simulive upload capabilities for specified accounts. VOD and simulive upload controls are decoupled for better control and management.
  • Customize hub page header
    Hosts can customize the hub page header for their Zoom Events. They can choose to display their company logo, a Video Selection icon, an Events Selection icon, an Events Hub icon, and a Powered by Zoom Events icon. Clicking these icons will take attendees to different pages within the hub. Attendees can also be directed to the order management page or sign-in page by clicking the Powered by Zoom icon. When an event enables a company logo, it will be displayed on the event detail page and sub-pages, overriding the hub logo configuration.
  • Introducing customized category management for Video On Demand
    Hub owners and hosts can now create and manage customized categories for Video On Demand (VOD) content within their event hub. From the hub profile page, they can define categories to be applied to VOD channels and recordings. When setting up a channel, hosts select applicable categories, and when editing a VOD recording in a playlist, they assign relevant categories. Attendees benefit from a unified "Category" filter to explore both live events and VOD offerings based on their interests. This feature streamlines content organization for hosts and improves the attendee experience in finding desired content.
  • Enhancements to hub profile and settings page
    Hub hosts can edit the hub profile and settings page, including customized categories and content hub settings. This allows for better team collaboration and centralized management of the virtual event experience. However, hub hosts cannot delete the hub, which is only eligible for the hub owner.
  • Improved event deletion capabilities for hub owners and hosts
    Hub owners and hub hosts can now delete one or multiple draft events that are not part of canceled events. They can also delete past events if there are no registrations associated with the event. However, they cannot delete upcoming events or past events with registrations. This provides greater control over event management and helps maintain a clean and organized event hub.

Integration features

  • Enable in-app custom object updates for the Marketo integration
    Account owners and admins can update custom objects for the Marketo integration directly within the Zoom App Marketplace. When configuring the Marketo integration, admins can click Update Custom Object to add new fields or data points to existing custom objects. This allows account owners and admins to leverage the latest features and functionality of the integration without needing to recreate the custom object through the API.
  • Map registration fields in campaign action step in Eloqua

  • The draft limit in Team Chat has been increased from 100 to 300. To accommodate this change, the Drafts tab has been renamed to Drafts and Sent for all users. As users approach the new 300 draft limit, a warning message will appear, encouraging them to clear up storage in the Drafts and Sent section to continue saving new drafts. This enhancement offers users greater flexibility in managing their draft messages and sent items within the integrated messaging platform.

    Increase compose box size for iOS and Android devices - Android, iOS
  • Users can expand the compose box on mobile devices by dragging it upwards, allowing for easier composition and viewing of longer messages. The expanded compose box remains fixed in the dragged position until minimized. When minimized, the text truncates with an ellipsis. The cursor position is maintained at the end of the text during expansion. This feature improves the user experience when composing messages on mobile devices.
    Simplified one-to-one chat invitations with external users - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
  • Users can initiate a 1:1 chat with an external user by entering their email address. The system will prompt the user that this is a contact request and will be sent as an email invitation as well as an in-client notification. Invitees can accept or decline the invitation from the client after signing in or signing up. If accepted, a 1:1 chat is created with the inviter's message populated. This provides a clear and safe way to invite and communicate with external users in a 1:1 chat. The invitation will expire after 30 days. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release, currently scheduled for June 20, 2024.
    Expanded GIPHY search and display capabilities in Zoom Team Chat - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  • Users can now view up to 30 GIF search results from GIPHY within the Zoom Team Chat app. The search results load incrementally as the user types their query, providing a more dynamic and responsive experience.
    Enhancements to forward message feature - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
  • The message forwarding experience in Zoom Team Chat has been improved. Share message will be replaced with Forward message in multiple locations:

  • In the title of the share/forward pop-up modal

  • On the share/forward card displayed when the message is forwarded, along with its corresponding icon. Share message will be substituted with Forward/Forwarded message in these instances.
    Additionally, to ensure consistency across mobile and desktop versions, two buttons, Share separately and Create group chat, will be included in the share modal on desktop. Previously, these buttons were only accessible on mobile devices. This modification is intended to harmonize the functionality between the desktop and mobile versions of the feature.

Zoom web portal features

  • More granularity for Enable Team Chat setting
    There will be more granularity for admin control of the Enable Team Chat setting. Previously, admins were able to specify certain domains or users, but not both. With this update, admins may specify both domains and users.
  • Enhancements to group level admin settings for read receipts
    Account owners and admins can now configure read receipt settings for individual group chats. They can enable or disable the ability for group members to see when their messages have been read by others. This feature provides greater flexibility and control over read receipts, allowing admins to tailor the experience based on the specific needs and preferences of each group chat.
  • Allow account owners and admins to manage channels type at the account level
    Account owners and admins can control what type of channels (public or private) can be created at the account level. Previously, this setting was only available at the group level. Admins can enable or disable the ability for users to create public or private channels. This provides account-level control over channel type.
  • Prevent members from leaving default channels in Zoom Team Chat
    Account owners and admins can restrict members from voluntarily leaving default channels in Zoom Team Chat. This feature is available in the admin portal and can be applied to selected or all default channels. If a channel is no longer default, members regain the ability to leave. Error handling is in place for issues applying or saving the setting. Appropriate notifications and user interface elements inform members and admins about the channel status and restrictions. This feature enhances communication reliability and prevents information silos within the organization.
  • Granular control over chat modernization settings
    The meeting setting New meeting chat experience will be deprecated, but all nested settings will remain and have their own toggles. Upon release, all settings will be configured as they are today, so there will be no change in current behavior. Additionally, we will introduce a new setting, Allow participants to edit messages in meeting chat.
  • Suppress system notifications for user additions or removals via synced user groups
    Account owners and admins can now suppress system notifications that are generated when users are added or removed from channels through synced user groups. This new setting in the admin web portal enables them to toggle on or off the display of these specific notifications, providing greater control over confidentiality and discretion. By giving admins the ability to manage these notifications, this feature enhances privacy and professionalism, minimizing potential speculation or discomfort among channel members caused by unexpected system messages.

  • Introducing QR code login for Zoom on Tesla

  • Remove the Mask feature for Meetings
    Users will receive a message if their system cannot load the Virtual Background. The message will state, "Failed to enable Virtual Background. Your video has been turned off." This update simplifies the user experience by removing the confusing Mask feature and providing clearer communication when the Virtual Background cannot be loaded. Previously, the Web App would prompt users to "Enable Mask," which displayed only a small visible area of the user's face while masking the rest of the screen.
  • Enhanced reporting for third-party devices joining through Zoom Web App
    Account owners and admins can now view more granular information about the devices used by participants joining Zoom meetings through the Zoom Web App (ZWA). The meeting reports now distinguish between browser web clients, Microsoft Teams Room devices (Windows and Android), Google Meet Hardware devices, and Zoom for Tesla. This enhancement provides greater visibility into the types of devices leveraging the ZWA to attend Zoom meetings hosted by the account.
  • Full-screen experience for Zoom app in Tesla
    Users have an option to maximize the Zoom app on Tesla. When in full-screen mode, the Zoom controls take over, allowing users to control the meeting without Tesla's interface. The Zoom meeting is controlled with these meeting controls. This feature provides parity with other platforms and enhances the user experience.
  • Improved Join Before Host experience
    Meeting participants joining from a mobile browser will be notified with an audible ding when the host starts a meeting if they have navigated to a different app and put the browser in the background.

    Attendees can now join webinars directly through their mobile browser, but with limited capabilities. They can engage in chat during the webinar. This improvement offers a quick and easy way for attendees to participate without needing to download the app.
