How to stop Amazon from accessing your Alexa recordings?

I’ve just read an article from Bloomberg where it says that Amazon employees might be listening to anything you say to your Alexa. I just wanted to have full privacy to use the service.

  • Open the Alexa App > Tap the Menu icon > Select Settings > Choose Alexa Account > Tap on Alexa Privacy > Choose ‘Manage How Your Data Improves Alexa’ > Turn the toggle off ‘Help Develop New Features’ > A confirmation pop up should appear, tap on Turn Off. Finish
  • On your PC, go to www.amazon.com/alexaprivacy > Sign in using your credentials > Click on ‘Manage How your Data Improves Alexa’ in the menu found on the left side of the page > Toggle Off the ‘Help Develop New Features ‘ > A confirmation pop up should appear, just choose Turn Off. Done

Finishing either will now prevent Amazon from accessing your Alexa recordings. Cheers.
