Hello. Its a bit tricky butt let me try to explain:

  1. Remove all wired connections from the control system.
  2. Reconnect the power supply.
  3. Use a small, pointed object (such as the tip of a pen) to press and release the HW-R button on the front of the control system.
  4. Wait for the MSG or ACQUIRE LED to light on the control system roughly one second after pressing the HW-R button.
  5. Use a small, pointed object (such as the tip of a pen) to quickly press the SW-R button on the front of the control system five times, with under a one second gap between each press.
  6. Wait up to 5–10 minutes for the self-recovery process to complete.
  7. Attempt to make a connection to the control system over USB or Ethernet as described in Establish Communications.
  8. Once the device has been discovered, use the Text Console tool in Crestron Toolbox to check for a prompt. The standard device prompt should display.

Attention: You really have to wait one second, as described in step 5. As you can see in the following link, some people make that mistake: https://devicebase.net/en/crestron-cp4/questions/locked-up-crestron-cp4-after-a-lost-password/5qa
