IPv6 can be configured from the command line, as well as through the WebUI.

- This is a security focused firmware release, upgrading firmware components to newer versions.
- Added the ability to disable SHA-1 algorithm for Secure CIP with SUPPORTCIPSHA1CIPH command.

Resolved bugs
- Non-compliant certificates could be loaded when the device is in FIPS mode.
- User with PROGRAMMER access level was not able to load Web and Mobility projects.
- User with OPERATOR access level was able to write files in the FTP root directory
- 3-Series Ethernet Inter-System symbols would always report “OFFLINE” in the WebUI.
- Using EventScheduler in C# with recurring events with start of the week set to Monday would not always reschedule correctly.
- It was possible to login with a user that had been deleted using a previously associated SSH key.
- SIMPL Windows program information fields were not always correctly parsed by the LogicEngine
- Device information could be exposed without authentication through the REST API using a specifically crafted URL.
- ADDHOSTS console command did not support IPv6

From firmware 2.8001.00041 and up, the following has changed
- This firmware enabled IPv6 support for the 4-Series Control Systems. IPv4 networking is still supported with this release.
- IPv6 can be configured from the command line, as well as through the WebUI.
- To use any IPv6 socket communication from SIMPL+ or SIMPL#, your program needs to be compiled with an updated database:
