Why is there static sound coming from the Rally Bar speaker in Zoom Rooms appliance mode?

In Zoom Rooms Appliance mode and when using the Tap with the Cat/USB adapter, a constant tone can be heard. During login and when joining nearby. Is there any way to turn this off?

Account

  • Log in to the Zoom web portal.
  • Click on Room Management in the navigation menu and then on Zoom Rooms.
  • Click on Account Settings.

  • Click on the Meeting tab.
  • On the Meeting tab, navigate to the Automatic direct sharing using ultrasonic proximity signal option and check if the setting is disabled.
  • If the setting is enabled, click the status toggle button to disable it. If a verification dialog is displayed, select Enable to confirm the change.

Room group

  • Log in to the Zoom web portal.
  • Click on Room Management in the navigation menu and then on Zoom Rooms.
  • In the hierarchy, click on the level at which meetings should start and end automatically. Example: If all rooms in a specific building are to be activated, click on the name of the building.
  • Go to Meeting Settings and deactivate the Automatic direct sharing using ultrasonic proximity signal option.
  • Click on Save changes.
