Start by registering on the Hue website. Subsequently link your bridge to your Hue account. Next time you start the Hue app, go to settings and select "log in to portal". Now log into your account, and you're all set. Please not that you have to be connected to your home network when setting up the out-of-home functionality for the first time. Note that a 3G/4G connection is required to control your lights when you are not within reach of your Wi-Fi network.
