Update

Digital Signage Only Zoom Rooms

New and enhanced features

General features

  • Zoom Rooms Digital Signage automatic content expiration
Administrators can set an expiration date and time for digital signage content. Once the expiration date and time is reached, the content will be automatically deleted. If the expiration date is set from the digital signage content library, the content will be removed from all Zoom Rooms it has been assigned to at the designated expiration date and time.
  • Multi-display layout control
Users can choose which screen layout or content is shown on each connected display via the Zoom Rooms controller or touch screen interface.
  • Support for Zoom Mesh
Zoom Mesh may now be used with Zoom Rooms.
  • Material design icons (MDI) library for Zoom Rooms native room controls
Users can select MDI icons of their choice when configuring Zoom Rooms native room controls.
  • Zoom Rooms native room controls allow longer string values
The JSON files used to configure Zoom Rooms native room controls now allow longer string values, up to 512 characters.
  • Support post-quantum end-to-end encryption for meetings
Zoom has been upgraded to support post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ E2EE). PQ E2EE in Zoom meetings is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture the encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. Zoom Rooms will display updated badges and visuals to indicate when PQ E2EE is active in meetings. As users update their Zoom Rooms to version 6.1.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted meetings will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the meeting will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled.
  • Removed host requirement when using NDI® output from Zoom Rooms
Zoom Rooms users do not have to host or co-host a meeting to use Network Device Interface (NDI®) output features.
  • Support for additional languages
Indonesian, Dutch, and Swedish are now supported.
  • HDMI content sharing for Google Meetings
Users can share content in a Google Meet meeting joined from a Zoom Room using wired HDMI input. Consult the Zoom Interop for Google Meet support page for requirements.
  • End of support for Kaptivo network whiteboard camera devices
Kaptivo network whiteboard camera devices are no longer supported with Zoom Rooms.

In-meeting features

  • Support Manual camera mode for NDI Cameras
Administrators can set the PTZ positions of a connected NDI camera and save or recall presets, just like with USB cameras. In addition, the default camera mode can be set as Manual when the meeting starts, even if the previously saved preset position is used.
  • Multi-speaker view layout improvements
Multi-speaker view layout has been modified to reduce animations, reduce unnecessary view changes, and increase the time a previously-speaking participant will remain at largest displayed size before they are moved to a smaller displayed size.
  • AI Companion enhancements
AI Companion has received several enhancements. Meeting Summary and Meeting Questions are now both enabled or disabled in tandem when AI Companion is toggled on or off from the Zoom Rooms controller. In addition, users in the Zoom Room can choose to delete all meeting assets saved by AI Companion when it is disabled from the Zoom Rooms controller. Lastly, users can receive or send requests to enable AI Companion while in a Zoom meeting.
  • Boundary Framing for Intelligent Director
Administrators can set a boundary for the detection area of Intelligent Director. When the boundary is set, Intelligent Director will take into account participants who are inside the boundary area.
  • In-meeting chat enhancement
Zoom Rooms users will be able to view mixed media chat messages, such as messages containing text and pictures.
  • Question & answer for meetings and webinar
The question & answer (Q&A) feature allows Zoom Rooms users to ask questions during the session, and for the host and co-hosts to answer their questions privately, publicly, or mark them as something to be answered live.
  • Room renamed notification
If a Zoom Room joins a meeting as a participant and the meeting host renames the room, the Zoom Room users will be notified that the room name has been changed for the duration of the meeting.
  • Display mute indicator on all streams
The mute indicator will be displayed on all streams in multi-stream and multi-camera view.
  • Meeting wallpapers
Meeting hosts using the Zoom Desktop application can customize the wallpaper in their meetings, adding more color and customization to their meeting view. Although Zoom Rooms users cannot customize the meeting wallpaper, they will be able to view the custom meeting wallpaper set by a meeting host using the Zoom desktop application.
  • Enhancements to reactions
Users can configure the skin tone of reactions.
  • Poll response overlay
Administrators can allow Zoom Rooms to display meeting poll overlays and configure their behavior. Once enabled, meeting hosts can enable or disable the poll overlay, which will display poll results on each participant’s video tile on the Zoom Room.
  • Closed Captions mismatch indicator
The mismatch indicator will show when the spoken language in-meeting does not match the language configured for the CC settings.

Management features

  • Enhanced statistics for camera modes
Using the Zoom Rooms controller, administrators can review camera statistics such as capture resolution, camera mode, and frames per second performance of connected cameras.
  • Auto accept for consent and notification dialogues
Administrators can designate Zoom Rooms that will automatically accept consent and notification dialogues. When this feature is enabled, admins are prompted to acknowledge their responsibility for obtaining consent from their users.
  • Extend a scheduled meeting
If an administrator has enabled the automatically start/stop scheduled Zoom Room meeting feature, a notification will appear ten minutes before the meeting is automatically ended. Administrators can configure this new setting to allow users to extend the meeting for ten minutes if no other meeting is scheduled after the current meeting in progress.
  • Hide participant count
Administrators can choose to show or hide the participant count in a Zoom Room.
  • Standardized meeting ending notifications
A notification is shown when the features Automatic stop scheduled meetings and show meeting ending reminder are enabled. These notifications will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the display, and can be dismissed manually or will be removed automatically after thirty seconds.
  • Configure audio state on meeting join
Administrators can configure their Zoom Rooms to start or join Zoom meetings in a muted state by default.

Zoom Whiteboard

  • Zoom Rooms for Touch and Companion whiteboard synchronization
If a new whiteboard is opened on a Zoom Rooms for Touch device it will also be opened on the Companion whiteboard device, if one is connected.
