Problem with camera image?

My camera (Microsoft lifecam hd cinema) shows only when using the zoom (latest zoom client) software a completely unusable heavily pixelated image. When testing the camera under Windows 10 with the camera app or any other app that accesses a camera (eg skype), the camera including built-in microphone works wonderfully and provides a crisp image in any situation. The problem is new and has not occurred in previous Zoom versions.

The (high-quality) camera is definitely not defective. What can be the cause of such a thing?

There are several possible causes for the problem you describe:

  1. settings in Zoom: check the video settings in Zoom and make sure the resolution and quality are set to the maximum setting. You can do this by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner and then going to "Video". Make sure that the "HD" option is selected.
  2. driver problems: Check if your camera drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the manufacturer's website and downloading the latest drivers.
  3. other applications: Make sure that no other applications are blocking or using the camera. Close all applications that can access the camera and try again.
  4. lack of resources: It is possible that your computer or internet connection does not have enough resources to run the camera effectively in the Zoom software. Make sure you are not running other applications during the meeting and that you have a stable and fast internet connection.
  5. Hardware incompatibility: Your camera may not be fully compatible with Zoom. Check the list of cameras supported by Zoom and make sure your camera is listed.
  6. firewall settings: Make sure your firewall settings do not prevent Zoom from accessing your camera. Check your firewall settings and make sure Zoom is marked as a secure application.
Virus or malware infection: It is possible that your computer is infected by a virus or malware that is affecting the performance of your camera in Zoom. Scan your computer with a reliable antivirus program and remove any threats found.
