Zoom Switching Accounts?
In May I registered to be a host on Zoom and held several meetings on the free package.
The on c. June 28th I registered for Zoom pro and paid £15 for a month's subscription.
I did not renew this subscription and assumed it had disappeared from my computer.
Then as I need a Zoom business package for a Symposium I am organising for October 3rd and because we needed to trial it and especially the simultaneous translation facility on it I logged on to subscribe to Zoom business for a month's subscription on 6 September BUT when this package arrived I found I had paid £132 for it and that it ended on September 28th and would be of no use for the Symposium. It turned out that they had been drawing down a monthly subscription for Pro zoom since July and that because the Zoom Business was an upgrade they then charged me £132 not the usual month's subscription of £150+VAT (c. £199). We have run San Jose and talked to their technicians but they could not help with this and promise that we would have a Zoom Business on October 3rd.
Because of this we decided to set up a new email address, give a different password etc and pay with a different card. We were able to get a new account and paid the sum of £199 for a month's subscription from September 10th - until October 10th. HOWEVER - in spite of this we have been totally unable to get into this account in order to set up a meeting and invite people to it. It defaults every time to my original account email address which is of no use to us.
Again we have spoken to Zoom technicians but they cannot explain it or resolve the problem We have taken zoom off the computer and reinstalled it but this has made no difference. The new email is there but it always appears asa linked address to my original one.
I'm not concerned about the money but it has frustrated our aim of holding a Symposium with simultaneous translation. It seems that our only alternative now will be to hold the Symposium on Pro Zoom without simultaneous translation.
Any advice warmly welcomed.
