Focusrite RedNet PCIeR Card via 32 Dante Inputs in ProTools?
Hello all
Currently our livestream setup looks like this:
All microphones go into the Allen&Heath GLD80 mixer. The FOH mix is done there. So that we can mix the audio tracks for the livestream individually, we have installed the Allen&Heath iLive iDR Dante card in the mixing console. From the mixer (Dante card) the audio then goes to the standard Ethernet port in the sound mixing PC. On this PC the DVS and the Dante controller is installed. As DAW we use ProTools. Now the problem is that in ProTools only a maximum of 32 Dante inputs can be added. Also, we don't know how to then listen to the mixed audio and then bring it to the Black Magic ATEM Mini Pro Switcher. The only solution I figured out was to have another laptop and send the mixed down mix from ProTools back to the Dante network. So that I can then bring the audio to the switcher, I used vMix and DVS to import the mix from the Dante network. And this I then send with vMix like HDMI to the ATEM Mini Switcher in Input 4.
So the following problems arise:
- We need more than the 32 Dante inputs in Pro Tools.
- Sound cannot be monitored because the ATEM Mini Pro does not have an aux output.
- Sound is too slow and the picture can't be delayed in the ATEM Mini Pro.
Now I have some ideas and this results in the following questions:
- Would it be possible to add more than 32 Dante inputs in ProTools with a Focusrite RedNet PCIe R card?
- Is there a way to listen to the audio from ProTools (use two sound cards at the same time) with this card? In ProTools there is only with one sound card (Dante).
- Does it need a second laptop to send the mix to the ATEM Mini?
- Is there an easier way than using vMix to send the finished mix to the ATEM Mini Pro with an HDMI cable?
