IO-LINK Application Specific Tag ?

Hi,

the Application Specific Tag is provided as "Conditional" field inside the"IO-Link Interface and System Specification"; can you tell me in wich cases it becames "Mandatory". I guess it's mandatory if the "M-senquece Capabilities" include ISDU-support.

Right. The Application Specific Tag becomes mandatory if the "M-Sequence Capabilities" of the IO-Link device include support for ISDU (Incremental Service Data Unit). ISDU support enables the transmission of additional data that is larger than the standard data blocks supported by IO-Link.
In this case, the Application Specific Tag must be used to transfer the ISDU data within the IO-Link message. Otherwise, the Application Specific Tag remains a "Conditional" field in the IO-Link Interface and System Specification.
