How to factory reset KNX device from ETS6?

The factory reset of a device is referred to as unloading in the ETS6 software, possible to be invoked with the Diagnostics menu or with a right mouse click on the device itself.

Two possibilities exist for the Unload function:

• Unloading an Application (no need for the device to be in Programming Mode)
• or Unloading an Application and Address (the device needs to be in a Programming Mode)

ETS software allows the unloading of only one device at a time by pressing the programming button on it. Thus, ETS prevents any accidental unloading of physically inaccessible devices.

Unload Application process

This process unloads the loaded application programs in the device, as well as the parameters and group addresses. The downloaded data will be deleted from the memory of the device and the previous device configuration will no longer be available. But, ETS software will still be able to connect to the device on its individual address, because the address remains valid.

The function starts with unloading the loaded application program parameters, and group addresses of the device, with settings its individual address to 15.15.255. The downloaded data is going to be deleted from the device memory as well as the previous device configuration and individual address. Additionally, all the programming flags of that device in the created projects are deleted/cleared.
