Meetup microphone audio is choppy?

Remote participant in 1:1 Zoom meeting receives video fine but audio is choppy. Tested with a different participant at a different location, same results. Replaced Meetup microphone with a new one, same results. Tried moving the microphone around the room in case there was a source of electromagnetic interference; no improvement. Meetup participant can receive audio fine from other participant's webcam/microphone, so bandwidth is likely not causing the issue. Measured bandwidth at 25Mbps up, 1.8Mbps down.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the problem might be due to a bad network connection or an audio codec compatibility issue. Here are some steps you can try to solve the problem:

  • Check the network connection: make sure you have a stable and fast Internet connection by measuring the speed with an online tool like speedtest.net. If the speed is low, it may cause problems with the audio.
  • Change the audio codec: Open the audio settings in Zoom and select a different audio codec. Different codecs have different bandwidth and processing requirements, so switching may fix the problem.
  • Reduce the number of participants: if you are in a 1:1 meeting, there may be a chance that too many other participants are accessing the network at the same time, causing a bottleneck. Try reducing the number of participants and see if that solves the problem.
  • Update the Zoom app: Make sure both you and the other participant are using the latest version of the Zoom app. An update may resolve known audio quality issues.
  • Check Operating System Audio Settings: Make sure your computer's operating system is using the correct audio settings and that no other program is blocking or interfering with the audio settings.

If none of these solutions solve the problem, you can try contacting Zoom Support for further assistance.
