Description

Modbus RTU uses binary coding with C RC error-checking, with each message being transmitted in a continuous stream. Each packet is intended to transfer only data and not parameters, with a typical length of connections up to 1000 meters, a data rate of 9000 bps, and a restriction to addressin 247 devices on one data link. The Modbus slaves are the devices that perform the system parameter measurements and control the on/off devices in the system, with the messaging being initiated by the master devices.
