Ethernet Powerlink

Description

Ethernet POWERLINK is a successor to the classic fieldbus technology, providing a transmission speed of 100 Mbit/s, allowing even the most demanding areas in control engineering, CNC, and robotics to be combined in a single network. It is a completely software-based solution, providing the flexibility for the users to adapt it to the same standardized hardware components. Ethernet POWERLINK relies on a mixed polling and time-slot procedure allowing only one node to transmit data, as in a roundtable discussion with a moderator. Optimally supports the advantages of an integrated control system, where the users can focus on the actual task of machine designing without having to worry about the fieldbus.
